I love crafts and with Easter just around the corner, I thought that these would be some super fun ones to make.

DIY Tutorials

It's so much fun scouring the internet for fun and cool diy tutorials. Here are a few that I fell in love with.

I really love this photo wreath. Such a fun way to display memories and so easy to update and change the photos.




How great are these 3D paper ball ornaments. They would look fab attached with some ribbon of varying lengths and hung in a row from the ceiling over a window.




I am in search of a new computer desk. I really need something with more surface work space and more storage. (I don't want a hutch though.) I really love this bookcase & door desk.




I love the idea of these ornaments. Who says that they can only be up at Christmas time? I think it would make a great conversation show piece for the dining room table or a front entrance table.

You're A-MAZE-ING!

Wow, has it already been almost a week since Valentine's Day has passed by? Can't believe that we are well into mid-February and that it's going to be less than 2 weeks until March!

I wanted to share the Valentine's Day cards that I made for my son's class. I think they turned out so cute!

Last year I found these heart mazes on after Valentine's clearance and picked up a few packages in anticipation of using them this year.



I have tons of chipboard from my scrapbooking days and cut up a bunch in a 3 1/4" x 6" size.

I then printed out a bunch of "YOU'RE A-MAZE-ING! Happy Valentine's Day" little labels using Photoshop and my printer and adhered them to the chipboard using my favorite scrapping glue made by Tombow.

Next I adhered the heart mazes using a couple of glue dots.



Mateo loves Cars2 (I do too...such a cute movie!), so he wanted to include one for each of his classmates in the inside of the card.

He chose which one he wanted for each friend and put them in using a glue dot. He then addressed each Valentine and signed his name. :)

Valentine's Day Craft Projects - Part 1

Valentine's Day is always such a fun time in our house, not only for us grown-ups, but for the kids too. :) It's a special day to express how much we love each other unconditionally.

It's also a great excuse to decorate the house with some ♥ love. And since I am itching to try some new crafty projects this year what better way to start then by creating some Valentine's Day goodness?

This is the first of a 3-part post of inspiring Valentine's Day themed projects that would be so fun to do!




I love these Crayon Hearts. They look so pretty hanging by the window.




I have to definitely try this Yarn Love. So clever to wrap wire with yarn. I love the results!

DIY New Year's Eve Fun

With 2012 just around the corner, here are some fun and creative do-it-yourself ideas to celebrate 2011 and ring in the New Year!




I love these fun party hats, complete with fringed tops. Festive, for sure!




Photo confetti, what a great idea to remember some memories from 2011!




A party is definitely not complete without these noise makers.




I love this tabletop countdown decor. So creative!




These noisemakers would be so much fun for kids and adults alike. Throwing in a couple of bells would make it extra noisy! :)




I love, love, love these shimmering streamers. It would be pretty funky for everyday decor too. :)

A-Frame Tent

I love this A-frame tent by Rubyellen Bratcher of Cakies. She has a fabulous blog!

She has provided detailed instruction on Grosgrain. I love that blog too! ♥

It looks pretty easy to make. I want to make one for a corner in Tobias' room. I would love a chevron pattern, but I think he would prefer a superhero themed one. :)

Hmmm, maybe we could go with the chevron and I'll make him a couple of superhero pillows... :)

Pom Pom Tutorial

I've always wanted to make some tissue paper pom poms and decided the other day that I was going to try it out. Wow, they are so fun make! I decided to hang mine over the kitchen sink. I absolutely love how it twirls ever so slightly and catches the light from the window. Definitely going to be making some more!


I used 8 sheets of 20" x 20" tissue paper.

With the eight sheets stacked on top of each other, you fold the tissue over by 1 1/2".



You then continue folding the tissue accordian style by 1 1/2", creasing with each fold until you reach the end. (If you have some tissue left at the end, just use scissors to cut that section off.)

This is what your finished folding should look like.



Next fold in half and make a crease. The crease is where you are going to wrap the wire.



Cut about a 6" piece of floral or craft wire and wrap along the crease you made (in previous photo). Twist the two ends together to secure and cut off any excess wire.



This is how the resulting wrapping of wire and twisting the ends together should look like.



Next, cut each end of the tissue into rounded shapes.



Then, CAREFULLY separate each layer of tissue. This has to be done with extreme care or else the tissue will tear.



Here is my pom pom hanging above my kitchen sink. I attached it with ribbon (to the wire that I wrapped in the middle). I ♥ it!



I'm thinking of making some fabric pennants and stringing them across also. I'll have to see. :)



My son loved it so much that he wanted me to make some for his bedroom. I got him to help me fold the tissue paper, wrap the wire around, and round out each of the ends. He wanted his pom poms red though. :) I think that I'm going to have to make some for my bedroom too!
