Inspiration Sunday - Children's Bedrooms

I love looking for inspiration to decorate my kid's rooms. These photos are no exception. There is ALOT of inspiration here!

I love the color scheme of this room. I love the chandelier, the floor to ceiling bookcases on either side of the bed, and the silhouette pillows. Gorgeous!

The non-tradtional bunkbed type set-up in this bedroom is so cool. The touches of color work so well in this predominantly brown and white room.

Photobucket

The headboard for the bed is absolutely beautiful! The little daybed on the right side is perfect for sleepovers. I love the color scheme...pinks, orange, grey, green and white. Hmmm...some wall print color inspiration! :) I adore how the leaf decals on the wall match the pillow and headboard pattern.

The colors in this room look so great against the bright white floors. The frog pillow on the bed is so adorable!

Photobucket

What a room for a superhero fanatic. The mural painted on the wall is fantastic. I love the pillow cases and the lamps and the brick wall on the right side! Awesome!

Photobucket

This bedroom is so bright and cheery! I love the red carpet with white dots. So striking! The large chicken standing on the table is pretty cute too! :)

Photobucket

I love the canopy on the top bunk and the curtains on the bottom. So fun!

Photobucket

This bedroom scheme is perfect for the sports fanatic! I love the bedding, the pillows and especially the pennants hanging across the windows.

Photobucket

I love the rustic feel of this bedroom! That ferris wheel storage contraption is genius and so unusual. Fantastic! Love the works of art to the side of the window. I also love the support that the mattress is on and how it extends beyond the mattress. That area would be perfect for all of my son's stuffed animals. They probably take up about 50% of his bed! With this set-up the stuffies can sleep at the end of the bed! :)

Inspiration Sunday - Children's Playrooms

Toys, toys everywhere! Ever since having kids, my downstairs looks like a tornado of toys hit. A separate playroom would be nice where I could just shut the door at night and not worry about how messy it looks! But with our house design, that just isn't possible as our downstairs is a very open floor plan.

It is better than it was as most of the toys have made their way upstairs to each of my boys bedrooms. And I won't let them play with something else until what they were playing with is put away. But still...

Here is some gorgeous playroom inspiration. So beautiful!

I love the white shelving and windows and the shot of color with the play table and storage bins. The "hanging lamp" above the table is so cool!

Could you imagine having this fantastic indoor play set. So.much.fun.

I had to include this funky, bohemian type play room. Wow!

Photobucket

This play room, or should I say space is amazing. It looks like a classroom with a small gymnasium.

Photobucket

I absolutely love the different prints on the wall, so colorful! The A and Z shelves are so cool! And the personalized chairs. ♥ it!

Photobucket

Oh, my goodness, to be this organized. Love it! The chalkboard cabinets are so neat.

Such a great space! I love the row of bins at the bottom of the cabiniets and the cork board between the windows displaying the works of art.

Inspiration Sunday - Craft Spaces

I absolutely love craft spaces. I wish that I had an entire room in my house designated as a craft room, where I can create to my hearts content and then close the door at the end of the day without having to worry about fully cleaning up my creative mess. When I create, stuff gets everywhere! :)

I have a large foyer in my house where I have two long cabinets that hold the bulk of my craft things. I also have some things in the storage space under our stairs. And yet another cabinet in my bedroom. Yikes! I really have way too much! Tons of fabric, thread, scrapbooking paper and card stock, punches, rubber and acrylic stamps, ink, pens, a whole variety of embellishments, albums...the list goes on!

Enough about my space, well, I guess it's spaces since I don't have it all in one area. :) The following are some really beautiful spaces that definitely inspire.

This craft space is that of Jenny B. Harris, an amazing illustrator, designer and blogger of Allsorts. Love it, so colorful! Just invokes creativity!

This lovely sewing space was featured in Sarah and Steve's house tour on Apartment Therapy. The white peg board holding the scissors, thread and other sewing goodness is fabulous! I also love the cabinet on wheels that smartly slides under the desk.

Heather Bailey. What more can I say? What a dreamy space. I don't know what I love more, the white cabinet holding all of that yummy fabric or the green island with all of it's fabulous drawers.

I love this island from Founders Kitchen & Bath with its huge countertop workspace and many drawers. Although it's meant for a kitchen, why couldn't you put it in a craft room?

Photobucket

The Bedford Project Table from Pottery Barn is just lovely.

Photobucket

Last but not least is creative genius Martha Stewart. Here is her craft space in the attic of her Bedford, NY, house.

If you have an attic, what a great way to make use of the space.

Photobucket

I love how organized she is. She has so much counterspace to work on. Each set of cabinets is probably for a different genre of craft.

Photobucket

I love the pull-out cabinets that can hold paper flat.

I hope you enjoyed this week's Inspiration Sunday. Stay tuned next week for some more things that inspire!

Inspiration Sunday - Organization

I am planning to have a series of blog posts each Sunday about different things that inspire me, things that draw my attention. I am naming the series "Inspiration Sunday".

This week's post is about organization. I love the feeling and satisfaction of being organized. I love having a place for everything, not just a place where things get "thrown into a corner", but a place where I can actually find what I am looking for.

I try to be organized, but sometimes, that just does not happen. For example, I've been looking for my Henckels vegetable peeler for weeks now. I have no idea where it has got to. I have a back-up peeler, but it just doesn't do the job as well. I haven't purchased a new one because I have faith that I will find it one of these days!

This year I have made a plan to simplify my house, give away items that I know I won't use, things that have been gathering dust in my closet. My goal for the next coming months is to get organized!

The following are little pieces of inspiration that inspire me to attain my organizational goal. If only my house could be so together! Ha! Ok, I have to remember, one.step.at.a.time.

I love the arrangement of white boards and cork boards on the wall. I also love the book shelves above it.

Photobucket

This corner pantry with folding doors is super! What a great use for a corner spot. Love the shelf for the appliances. I have mine in a cupboard. It seems like such a waste of cupboard space as appliances take up so much room!

Photobucket

I love this pot rack above the sink. I think a pot rack would be awesome to free up a drawer that would otherwise be filled with pots and pans.

Photobucket

Love, love, love this shelving unit filled with matching labeled containers for your spices. Super!

Photobucket

Whoever thought of a floor to ceiling pull-out space for non-perishables is a genius! What a great use of space!

Photobucket

I thought that this pull-out shelf for a toaster was a pretty cool idea.

Photobucket

Loving this coffee table. It looks like it would have some wonderful storage for magazines, remote controls, kids art stuff, and maybe even a blanket!

Photobucket

I love this craft space. So lovely! I could imagine doing hours of creating in there! Ah, absolute bliss.

Photobucket

I had to include a photo of Heather Bailey's workspace. Gorgeous!

Photobucket

I love this colorful display of paints, glitter, and tape. Love!

Ready. Set. Organize.

I am a pack rat. It is so hard for me to part with things. Who knows when I may need them...even if it's like, uhm, 10 years from now!! ;)

This year, I am determined to let go. To simplify my life. To get organized.

I created this Etsy treasury of some unique items to help organize your life and living space.
