The Nasty Stomach Bug

It all started last week when I got a call from Mateo's school saying that he wasn't feeling well. He was complaining that his tummy was upset. When I picked him up, he was sitting in a chair holding a bowl.

Sure enough when he got home he started throwing up. I took him to the doctor later that day to have him checked out. It was the case of the icky stomach flu.

Thankfully that night he had a good night's sleep without any incident. The next day he lay on the couch and rested all day. Mateo is so energetic, that it was really hard for me to see him not being himself.

Mateo is one tough cookie though, all in all he was down and out for about 24 hours and then was back with all the energy that I am so used to in him. I kept him home from school the rest of the week though, as I wanted to make sure that he was 100%.

For the next couple of days, I worked like a mad woman around the house. I wanted to get all the laundry and cleaning done just in case I happened to get a case of the 'icky bug'. So far so good and I was feeling fine.

Wednesday night came along and about a couple of hours after I put Tobias to bed he woke up and cried, "Help!" I ran up to his room and he was sitting on the side of his bed and had thrown up. :( It was so crazy though, because there was no indication at all, prior to that, that he was sick. It just came on all the sudden. Then that night, after midnight, I started feeling sick. I wasn't throwing up, but my tummy was upset.

Thursday was a write off. Tobias and I just lay on the couch for most of the day. I couldn't believe how exhausted I was. This thing really takes alot out of you. Then later that night Carlos started feeling icky. The only one in the house that felt good was Mateo.

Well, it definitely was not a fun week and I am so glad that we are all back to normal (well as normal as normal can be...ha!). Now bring on a new week! Yay!

Thanks, I'm definitely glad that we are feeling better! It's never fun having sick kids, but even more so when you feel sick yourself!

    Have a wonderful day! :)
